Description
The timing belt pulleys on these engines have been known to crack and break at the pulley spindles.
Whilst only speculation to the causes, overtightened fastening bolts, new timing belt tension, or vibration, uprated pulleys have been made available for the non Jaguar / Land Rover applications, which are more robust in their design.
These pulleys boast larger spindles and/or surface area giving increased strength (See Images).
Some Specialists have indicated that they will now only fit a new timing belt using these uprated pulleys, available in both RH and LH versions.
Warranty is limited to part only.
